ALL ARMY MEMORANDUM

SUBJECT: Army Directive 22-9-002 - The Imperial Army Structure

  1. PURPOSE.

  3. DEFINITIONS.
    1. Senior Army Officer.  The senior most individual assigned to an area.  Does not include individuals in the IA Headquarters in Aksum.  Must be specifically assigned to that quadrant, segment, system, or planet.

    3. FMA. Abbreviation for Field Marshal of the Army
    4. VFMA. Abbreviation for Vice Field Marshal of the Army
    5. SMA. Abbreviation for Sergeant Major of the Army.  The Senior Enlisted Advisor to the FMA.
    6. SEA. Senior Enlisted Advisor.  Senior non-commissioned officer assigned to an element of the Army
    7. Full spectrum operations. A mix of offense, defense and either stability or civil support operations in the air, land, or sea.
  4. APPLICABILITY. This directive applies to all elements assigned or attached to the Imperial Army and/or under the authority of the Field Marshal of the Army.
  5. MISSION.  The mission of the Military is to fight and win the Imperium’s wars, conduct defense and security operations in and around Imperial Space; provide support to the States of the Imperium; and ensure the survival of the Imperium.  In support of the Imperial Service mission, the Mission of the Imperial Army is to conduct full spectrum operations on any planet or planetoid. The Army OPCONs these forces to the Quadrant commanders based on their requirements.
  6. ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT.  The Imperial Army is organized with a headquarters and support command, and four numbered armies with subordinate elements.
    1. The headquarters of the Imperial Army provides support to the Field Marshal of the Army and its subordinate units.  It consists of:
      1. Command Group
        1. Field Marshal of the Imperial Army (O-10 to O-13)
        2. Vice Field Marshal of the Army (O-9 to O-12)
        3. Sergeant Major of the Army (E-9 to E-11)
      2. Headquarters and Support Command (HSC)
        1. Chief of Staff and Commander, Army HSC (O-8 to O-11)
        2. Vice Chief of Staff and Vice Commander, Army HSC (O-7 to O-10)
        3. Assistant Chief of Staff for Administration, G1, and Commander, Army Personnel Command (O-6 to O-9)
        4. Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, G2, and Commander, Army Intelligence Command (O-6 to O-9)
        5. Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3, and Commander, Army Operations Command (O-7 to O-10)
          1. Deputy ACS - Air Operations, Commander, Army Air Corps (O-6 to O-9)
          2. Deputy ACS - Land Operations, Commander, Army Ground Corps (O-6 to O-9)
          3. Deputy ACS - Sea Operations, Commander, Army Sea Corps (O-6 to O-9)
        6. Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4, and Commander, Army Logistics Command (O-6 to O-9)
    2. The Army conducts its operations through field armies that are overseen by the G3 and the Vice Field Marshal. The Army Staff initially provides the staff support for the field armies.  The following force structure is authorized:
      1. 1st Army is the Senior Army Command in the Alpha Quadrant. 1st Army consists of a Headquarters with four (4) corps.
        1. HQ 1st Army includes
          1. Commanding General (O-7 to O-10)
          2. Deputy Commanding General (O-6 to O-9)
          3. G1, Adjutant, Chief Administrative Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          4. G2, Chief Intelligence Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          5. G3, Chief Operations Officer (O-6 to O-8)
          6. G4, Chief Logistics Officer (O-5 to (O-7)
          7. Command Sergeant Major (E-8 to E-10)
        2. The I Corps is headquartered in the State of Aksum and consists of a headquarters with the 1st Air Division, 1st Sea Division, and 1st Ground Division.
        3. The V Corps is headquartered in the  State of Avalon and consists of a headquarters with the 5th Air Division, 5th Sea Division, and 5th Ground Division.
        4. The VIII Corps is headquartered in the State of Oria and consists of a headquarters with the 8th Air Division, 8th Sea Division, and 8th Ground Division.
        5. IX Corps is headquartered in the State of Sangral and consists of a headquarters with the 9th Air Division, 9th Sea Division, and 9th Ground Division.
      2. 2nd Army is the Senior Army Command in the Beta Quadrant. 2nd Army consists of a Headquarters and three (3) corps
        1. HQ 2nd Army includes
          1. Commanding General (O-7 to O-10)
          2. Deputy Commanding General (O-6 to O-9)
          3. G1, Adjutant, Chief Administrative Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          4. G2, Chief Intelligence Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          5. G3, Chief Operations Officer (O-6 to O-8)
          6. G4, Chief Logistics Officer (O-5 to (O-7)
          7. Command Sergeant Major (E-8 to E-10)
        2. The II Corps is headquartered in the State of Solacia and consists of a headquarters with the 2nd Air Division, 2nd Sea Division, and 2nd Ground Division.
        3. The VI Corps is headquartered in the State of Acarecia and consists of a headquarters with the 6th Air Division, 6th Sea Division, and 6th Ground Division
        4. The VII Corp is headquartered in the State of Mezia and consists of a headquarters with the 7th Air Division, 7th Sea Division, and the 7th Division.
      3. 3rd Army is the Senior Army Command in the Gamma Quadrant 3rd Army consists of a Headquarters and three (3) corps.
        1. HQ 3rd Army includes
          1. Commanding General (O-7 to O-10)
          2. Deputy Commanding General (O-6 to O-9)
          3. G1, Adjutant, Chief Administrative Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          4. G2, Chief Intelligence Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          5. G3, Chief Operations Officer (O-6 to O-8)
          6. G4, Chief Logistics Officer (O-5 to (O-7)
          7. Command Sergeant Major (E-8 to E-10)
        2. The III Corps is headquartered in the State of Babylon and consists of a headquarters with the 3rd Air Division, 3rd Sea Division, and the 3rd Ground Division.
        3. The X Corps is headquartered in theState of Maya and consists of a headquarters with the 10th Air Division, 10th Sea Division, and the 10th Ground Division.
        4. The XIII Corps is headquartered in the State of Weredal and consists of a headquarters with the 13 Air Division, 13 Sea Division, and the 13th Ground Division
      4. 4th Army is the Senior Army Command in the Delta Quadrant 4th Army consists of a Headquarters and three (3) corps
        1. HQ 4th Army includes
          1. Commanding General (O-7 to O-10)
          2. Deputy Commanding General (O-6 to O-9)
          3. G1, Adjutant, Chief Administrative Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          4. G2, Chief Intelligence Officer (O-5 to O-7)
          5. G3, Chief Operations Officer (O-6 to O-8)
          6. G4, Chief Logistics Officer (O-5 to (O-7)
          7. Command Sergeant Major (E-8 to E-10)
        2. The IV Corps is headquartered in the State of Gramos and consists of a headquarters with the 4th Air Division, 4th Sea Division, and the 4th Ground Division.
        3. The XI Corps is headquartered in the State of Thera and consists of a headquarters with the 11th Air Division, 11th Sea Division, and the 11th Ground Division.
        4. The XII Corps is headquartered in the State of Lemuria and consists of a headquarters with the 12th Air Division, 12th Sea Division, and 12 Ground Division.
      5. The Corps are organized with the following authorizations
        1. Headquarters and Command
          1. Commanding General (O-7 to O-9)
          2. Deputy Commanding General (O-7 to O-8)
          3. Corps Adjutant (O-4 to O-6)
          4. Corps Intelligence Officer (O-4 to O-6)
          5. Corps Operations Officer (O-5 to (O-7)
          6. Command Sergeant Major (E-8 to E-10)
        2. Each Corps will have a
          1. Air Division to conduct planetary air operations
            1. Each division is authorized three Air Wings that is a composite of air groups (fighter, bomber, transport)
          2. Ground Division to conduct ground operations
            1. Each ground division is authorized three composite brigades that includes infantry, armor, and artillery regiments.
          3. Sea Division to conduct sea operations on planets.
            1. Each sea division is authorized three composite Flotillas
          4. Each division will have in its command group
            1. Commander (O-6 to O-8)
            2. Assistant Commander (O-6 to O-7)
            3. Division Sergeant Major (E-8 to E-9)
  7. RELATIONSHIPS AND AUTHORITIES
    1. The Vice Field Marshal of the Army (VFMA) shall manage the Imperial Army in the absence and on behalf of the Field Marshal of the Army (FMA).  The VFMA is authorized to coordinate with other elements of the Imperial Service and Imperial Military and agencies of the Imperial Government.  All matters presented to the FMA shall be shared with the VFMA.  The VFMA is the primary manager of plans and resources and disciplinary matters.
    2. The G3 is delegated the authority to issue orders in the name of the FMA on all operational and force structure matters.  He or she is authorized direct interaction with Quadrants and Imperial Service Staff.
    3. The Imperial Army Staff is authorized direct interaction with other personnel and administration offices related to their functions; and may act FOR THE FIELD MARSHAL OF THE ARMY on matters related to their functions.
    4. The Field Marshals in each Field Army are authorized direct coordination with Quadrant Commanders to whom they are OPCONd.
  8. ADMINISTRATION.
    1. The FMA nominates the VFMA and the Field Marshals of each Field Army; with the approval of the Chief Marshal Commander or the Vice Chief Marshal Commander.  The FMA appoints key leaders two levels below.
    2. The VFMA nominates the Army Staff for approval by the FMA.  The VFMA has oversight of officer assignments.
    3. The Sergeant Major Army shall oversight of Enlisted Assignments.
    4. The Judge Advocate General of the Military is appointed by the Judge Advocate Marshal of the Imperial Service with concurrence of the Chief Marshal Commander.
  9. RELEASABILITY. Unlimited. This directive is approved for public release and shall be made available in the Imperial Archives with a link in the Imperial Forums.
  10. EFFECTIVE DATE. This directive is effective 0001 hrs, 26 September 2022
